The plan was to visit Belur and Halebidu along with other Hoysala temples nearby. We had booked the stay at Hotel Mayura in Belur operated by Karnataka Tourism department. As always we started early to leave the city before it wakes up. The drive was a pleasant one, first the Nice road and then NH48, the SH7 between Channrayapattana and Arsikere is 2 lane but nicely maintained.

Some pics from the drive to Hassan.

Sunrise on NH48. We made the first stop at New golden breeze restaurant for breakfast and capture the sunrise.

Harsh burning the one idly that he had. The restaurant had a small kids play area and Harsh thoroughly enjoyed playing there. After 20 min he agreed to leave that to halfheartedly.

Its 8:30 AM and still  the mist was not cleared.

Another mist covered section on SH7.

If you do not do your research properly you will end up on these roads :). Did not know there are two mosale one north of hassan and other south. More on that coming on post about mosale. Had to drive very slow in few sections to avoid damaging the chassis of the car.

Sunrise on Day 2. NH234 between Belur and Halebeidu.

Mist forming a blanket over the farms. Harsh has named these roads as farm road and he loves them. He doesn't like highways. He keeps asking when will the farm road come. He likes seeing trees on both sides of the road.

Some landscape on the way to Halebidu

The road to twin temples of mosale.

More pics and info about the temples coming soon. Stay tuned.
