2015 Lalbagh Flower Show

Date: 14th Aug 2015

Visitors: Arun, Shilpi, Harsh, Muthusamy and Vijayalakshmi

Fee: Adult Rs40 and Kids Rs10.

Flower show at lalbagh happens twice a year. The week of Republic day and Independence day.
Visited the show last year during weekend and it was crowded crazily. Decided to visit this time on weekday and went there on Friday. No parking allowed inside so i went round and round finding a place to park. So my advice is to either take auto or cab.

The main attraction is always in the glass house. This year they had replicated the Bangalore palace using Rose.

Front view of the beautiful palace replica.

Red, white and  Yellow rose used to build the Palace.

Beautiful Red rose decorating the walls of the palace.

Many animals and birds designs displayed.

More than 200 varieties of  flowers were displayed.

National Flag made of Rice.

Statues of Kings of Mysore and their contribution was displayed.

More flowers.

Few decorations using flowers and plants.

One of the must visit events in Bengaluru. Avoid weekends.

This Jam is not on a road or anywhere its inside a tech park. It takes 20+ minutes to just come out of a tech park on ORR.

Bengaluru Eataries: 4. Smoke - The Sizzler House

Date: 14th July 2015

Foodies: Arun, Shilpi and Harsh

Cost for 2: 1500 Approx

Location: Koramangala

Specialty: Sizzlers

After visiting Meenakshi Temple on my birthday we decided to have lunch outside. We had narrowed on 2 places one was Truffles and other was Smoke sizzlers. Truffles doesnt take reservation so had to go there and wait. They said it will be 40 min and since we were hungry we went to Smoke Sizzlers.

There was only one more table occupied and we were second. we ordered the drink and the starters.

Frachos - French fries, harsh favorite always in our order list.

It was plain fries with cheese toppings. It was too bland but harsh loved it. He filled his stomach with fries.

Corn and Cheese bombs. This was bit better. Bread crumb roll with corn and cheese inside. As always anything with cheese i would love it ;)

My standard drink anywhere, Lemon iced tea. Had a good iced tea after a long time.

Pink Floyd ;) water melon juice with strawberry crush. It was also good one.

Cheesy macaroni sizzler. Before this we did something stupid. We were waiting for the sizzlers   but it was taking so long. Couple of people came ate and went but ours still did not come. After 25 min i called the waiter and asked what happened to the sizzlers and he asked sir what sizzler then we realized we still haven't ordered it, facepalm moment :(.

Cottage cheese steak sizzler with noodles. The sauce was tangy and good when mixed with noodles. Paneer is another favorite food of mine.

Though we had to starve for a long time we enjoyed the lunch and the place was good. The food was good but sure there are much better places to have sizzlers in Bengaluru.

Bengaluru Eateries: 3. Bansuri Sweets

Date: 2nd August 2015

Foodies: Arun, Shilpi and Harsh

Cost for 2: 150 Approx

Location: Multiple locations in Bengaluru

Specialty: Sunday breakfast, Club kachori and Jelebi

Shilpi is a big fan of club kachori in bansuri. She likes the aloo masala which both Harsh and I hate it ;) This is available on Sundays only.

The next specialty here is the Jelebi. This is one of the best Jelebi's i had. Just too good. Very crispy, hot and sweet. Must try item.

The other breakfast you get is poori. Only place i guess they give 4 poori in a plate. The poori is good but again the same aloo masala which i am not a big fan of. The poori is soft and puffed nicely.

The place is also famous for its sweets and chats.
